Meet the Storyteller Behind The Conversation

Stephen Cyrus Sepher is a screenwriter, filmmaker, and actor whose creative journey began with the feature film One More Round (2005), which he wrote, directed, and produced. The film starred veteran actors including Udo Kier (Blade), Tony Amendola (The Mask of Zorro), and Patrick Crenshaw (Old School), and marked Stephen’s emergence as a bold new voice in independent cinema.

His foundation as a storyteller was shaped by years of intensive study and on-set experience. He trained under respected industry coaches including Lewis Smith (The Heavenly Kid), Candy Herman, a well-regarded acting coach, and Rick Walters, an instructor at the Beverly Hills Playhouse under Milton Katselas, and founder of the Rick Walters Acting Studio in Los Angeles.

He went on to write, produce, and portray the character Dante in the action-thriller Bus 657 (Heist), starring Robert De Niro, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Dave Bautista, Morris Chestnut, Gina Carano, and Kate Bosworth. The film showcased Stephen’s ability to craft high-stakes narratives while contributing both behind the scenes and on screen.

Stephen brought a bold new twist to the 1950s noir classic D.O.A. with his film Dead on Arrival, which he wrote, directed, and produced. The modern reimagining earned recognition at film festivals around the world, receiving nominations for both directing and cinematography, and further establishing Stephen’s distinctive voice as a filmmaker unafraid to reinterpret legacy material through a contemporary lens.

He also produced two action films starring Bruce WillisDeadlock and Vendetta. In Deadlock, he not only served as executive producer but also appeared on screen, continuing his commitment to projects that combine compelling performances with intense, cinematic storytelling.

In 2025, Stephen wrote, produced, and co-starred in Wages of Sin, a gritty crime drama about the fentanyl cartel operating between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Starring Danny Trejo, the film explores the dark underworld of synthetic drug trafficking, blending real-world urgency with suspense-driven narrative. Wages of Sin earned multiple honors at the Arapa International Film Festival, including Best Screenplay for Stephen, Best Supporting Actor for Trejo, and Best Editing, further cementing the film’s critical recognition and Stephen’s reputation as a powerful storyteller.

Stephen is currently working on a book chronicling his experiences in Hollywood, including his time working alongside Robert De Niro. In addition to his creative work, he has been invited to speak on multiple industry panels, including events hosted by Bloomberg and the Louisiana International Film Festival, where he shares insights on filmmaking, storytelling, and navigating the evolving entertainment landscape. He also works one-on-one with creatives through private consulting, helping artists and entrepreneurs shape their ideas into stories with clarity, purpose, and cinematic impact.

Through his podcast The Conversation, launched in the aftermath of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, Stephen created a platform for real, unfiltered dialogue during a time of industry uncertainty. The show features a wide range of influential voices, from studio executives and finance professionals to royalty, creatives, and cultural leaders, offering listeners rare access to the minds shaping entertainment, business, and society. Since its debut, The Conversation has gained a strong and growing following, amassing over 36 million views across platforms.

He is also the voice behind The Executive Series, a commentary-driven segment of the podcast that decodes the psychology of wealth, power, and influence. Through narrative insight and firsthand analysis, Stephen explores the mindset of top decision-makers, unpacking the strategic thinking and belief systems that shape industries, culture, and legacy.

Across every medium, Stephen continues to use story as a tool for reflection, strategy, and impact — challenging audiences to rethink what they know about power, purpose, and the human experience.

“I believe storytelling is the most powerful tool we have — to challenge systems, to inspire change, and to connect across differences. Everything I do starts with that intention.”
